11.19 | Reading and stuff

Today, students read independently. Absent students should get their absence excused for the bell-ringer to be exempted.

Then, students were reminded that it’s unlikely that we’ll get to return to the library for the remainder of 2024. Students were reminded to use the online library catalog to reserve books so they can be delivered to them. Students are expected to do this so that they have enough to read the remainder of 2024.

Students used class time to work on any of the three things that are due this week:

  • Weekly grammar assignment in StudySync, due Friday
  • Reading assignment in Study Sync (“Catch the Moon” and “The Treasure of Lemon Brown”) to be read independently or with a partner. Students may also opt to use earbuds or low volume to listen to the story being read to them.
  • Completing the comprehension quiz over the stories in Google Classroom, due Thursday.

11.18 | A shortie

Today, students went to the library for the opportunity to check out new books. This will be the last trip we take in 2024. Students were highly encouraged to be sure they have two books checked out. Students should expect to request books using the online resource for the library if they’re running low on reading material before the end of 2024.

Then, students read independently. Absent students should get their absence excused for the bell-ringer to be exempted.
